Privacy Policy for Asideo

Asideo is built by RyGar Labs. This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect.

What We Collect

Nothing. Asideo has no network calls, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, no advertising identifiers, and no account system. Your voice notes, transcripts, and AI-formatted text never leave your iPhone.

On-Device Processing

• Recording. Voice notes are captured and stored locally on your iPhone.
• Transcription. Asideo uses Apple's Speech framework with on-device recognition only. Audio and transcripts are never sent to a server.
• AI formatting. The Summary, Class Notes, Brainstorm, and To-Do formats are generated by Apple Intelligence using the on-device foundation model. Your note text is processed locally; nothing is transmitted.

Permissions

Microphone. Required to record voice notes and to capture custom sounds for the soundboard. Asideo requests it the first time you tap Record. Recordings are saved locally and are never transmitted. You can revoke access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

Speech Recognition. Required to transcribe voice notes. Asideo requests on-device recognition only and does not use Apple's server-side speech service.

Reminders. Requested only when you tap "Send to Reminders" on a To-Do note. Only the parsed checklist items are written to the Reminders app. Asideo never reads your existing reminders.

Asideo does not request access to your camera, location, contacts, photos, or any other protected resource. To import an existing audio recording for the soundboard, Asideo uses the system file picker, which gives the app temporary access only to the single file you choose.

Data Stored on Your Device

• Voice note recordings, transcripts, and AI-formatted text
• Soundboard preferences (selected sound, shuffle setting, chime preferences)
• Audio files you import or record for the soundboard

All of this stays on your iPhone. It is removed when you delete the app.

Children

Asideo does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
